In the end they removed them once the contract expired.

But it got me curious, is there no way to get out of a contract once signed? I know contracts have breach clauses and stuff, but if the college paid up front is there literally no way for them to breach the contract after that? Hiring security to physically block the Flock people from uncovering the cameras?

I think they could get out from the contract and only pay civil damages.

Cover the cameras, cut them down, whatever. It's destruction of Flock's property, but that property is... a few steel pipes. Or some trash bags.

We've also seen cases where cities cancel, but cameras stay running for months and months.

And cases where cities are out of contract and Flock keeps the cameras running for months (or years) without a new contract.

And we've seen flock replacing cameras without actually charging for replacement, even for cities that have had their contracts end.

-> Pretty sure Flock just wants to capture the data at all costs. They'd probably go the other way and PAY cities/schools/HOAs to install their cameras just so they can harvest the patterns of our lives. Once again, we are the product.

It's the land of the free, I would expect them to use real guns

anybody else come to terms with majority of executives in our industry being sadistic creeps that don't care about their workers and care even less about people interacting with their products?
