      Reliability generally isn't an issue with higher-end IBM hardware.

      The comparison I'd make goes back to 1980, when IBM forced Intel to license other companies to produce 8088 CPU's, so they'd have backup sources for the IBM PC.

      But that worked fine. Vs. now - SpaceX is Intel. NASA is in IBM's old shoes. And none of the second sources can actually deliver on manned launch capability.
