    The problems discussed here are not The Problem, which is that businesspeople cannot understand the problems discussed here. The effect of The Problem is that the designers and operators of systems have to care how fast they get the wrong answers. This is demoralizing and universally corrupting. Every company would be better off reverting to pre-1945 methods and tools.

      Interesting perspective and I don't disagree. Though on one hand engineering has always been about building the bridge that barely stands. On the other hand it often feels like we are not even close to designing bridges in modern tech companies, and instead we're closer to throwing garbage into the river and floating across on it, and saying that's engineering.
