people like George Noble while smart and arguing for common sense

unfortunately lose when hysteria and foolishness i.e memes take over.

Tesla is a meme stock. SpaceX will sell dreams about datacenters in space.

as long as gullible foolish people believe in the meme or the fantasy dreams - arguing your case about valuation will just leave your pockets empty & voice dry.

the only unfortunate thing is now retirement accounts might get torched.

Dutch people went all in on the dot com bubble. After that debacle Dutch citizens swore off the stock market for an entire generation despite economists literally begging folks to put their money back in (the Netherlands has a rather obscene amount of money tucked away in savings accounts).

I woulda thought they learned from their great great granddaddies warning them about the tulip bubble!

So is Tesla. The fly in the ointment is the Tesla demonstrates how long you can keep the scam running. It's been three years since Tesla was a growth technology stock. Now it's an EV manufacturer that has under invested in follow on products. But the P/E ratio is still astronomical.

im not going to advocate for the devil, but the title seems to be the distilled essence of extractive business models.

i think the problem starts with mistaking such business for a philanthropic or non profit model.

that being said investors are a major "chattel" and if you abuse them, you start having problems.

Or not. It's hard to say at this juncture.

It’s worse! It’s more like someone found a bug into a legacy system(index funds) and is not exploiting along with some corruption bending the rules. A good chunk of population more or less directly will just end up holding the bags because they just followed the advice to buy index funds because companies are required to float % percentage, be profitable or whatever , and now the rules changed for this special Elon operation

Hacker found an exploit, and exploited it.
