How much of this is due to better survival from other causes of mortality?

The previous years it was declining. Now it is soaring? Something does not add up here. Also, how do they know the future?

Every medical provider I've ever visited has been pounding my metaphorical ass since 4 years ago (like it literally started at midnight on my exact 50th birthday) to remind me that my colonoscopy is due to go spelunking for polyps and "prevent cancer" for some reason.

Guys, I have enough real problems to worry about, without anyone inventing new ones or going on a fishing expedition. I get really sick of these "mandatory screenings".

Here, have an SNL skit starring Woody Harrelson: https://youtu.be/Mu12X2cu6Y0?si=SEeqEEbwXnTckOUQ

You might regret this if you ever get colon cancer.

        Who cares?

If I evade screenings for the rest of my life, I'll never be diagnosed! So I'll never find out! That's a good strategy, isn't it?

As I just finished writing, I have real actual health issues that I'm dealing with and I'm closely working with my invisible PCP to treat those issues (as in "Trick or Treat" on Hallowe'en.)

I see no need to go looking for problems I don't already have, and problems that won't materially affect my life until it's too late anyway.

If someone did discover cancer in me, what would we do? How would things change? Nothing at all. I would do nothing. I'm not gonna die of chemotherapy.

If you discover a precancerous polyp, and it gets removed during the colonoscopy, you just might avoid ever getting colon cancer instead of dying from it prematurely. But you do you.

You don't seem to even understand or care how much I would personally appreciate and welcome "dying prematurely" of any cause. This is so personal. HN such insensitive claudes here.

Even with your disposition in mind, of all the ways to die prematurely, cancer seems one of the more drawn out and the least pleasant ways...

So if it means so much to you that I screen for colon cancer, then you can pay for it, you can drink the nasty shit, and you can shove it up your own ass, with all due respect, mister.

this is the attitude of a toddler throwing a tantrum because they’re being told to eat their vegetables
