I use "Copy Link" buttons pretty religiously on my phone because they tend to remove trailing URL parameters, saving me from manually selecting only the front part of the link.
Thinking about this, it would be nice if my browser had a button for that.
Yah. Smells rather orwellian, if you ask me. It's especially funny when you see they are mostly offering the same shit by a few news-agencies, just wrapped in different packaging.

Firefox has a "copy clean link" button for hyperlinks and in the address bar.
And here I thought I was an oddball for manually cutting off end parts of links
