Wild claims from recent ISP conference: 1) AI companies are driving growth of multi-billion dollar residential proxy market 2) Recent take down of world's largest DDoS Kimwolf botnet failed 3) tens of millions of compromised Android proxy devices are the source of most of the world's DDoS attacks

I'm willing to believe 2 and 3, but 1 seems like a far reach. What would eg: anthropic gain from having a residential proxy?

Scraping? Either in a large sweep or in response to a user's query?

Try it from your data center, if the site is blocking you, try again through a residential proxy.

Bingo. For example try a curl from your AWS box to a major ecommerce site. Very good odds it won’t land. Now try the same curl from your house.
