I’m part of the team organizing Percona Live this year in Mountain View (at the Computer History Museum).

We wanted to move away from the "corporate keynote" style and focus on actual engineering hurdles. We’ve lined up talks that I thought this community would find interesting, specifically around:

Postgres Storage/Compute Separation: Moving beyond the standard monolithic setup.

The Valkey Fork: A look into the first year of the Redis fork and where the performance bottlenecks are.

Query Optimization: Not just "add an index," but how the optimizers are evolving for modern hardware.

We’re keeping it open-source focused. If you're around the Bay Area, we'd love to have you. If not, I’m happy to discuss any of the specific database internals we're tackling this year in the comments.
