Kind of cuts against their argument that Claude is a supply chain risk. Brilliant move by Dario in allowing USG access to this - will make it difficult for the political hacks to argue about security risks at trial.

Not like we needed any more evidence that argument was political nonsense.

Just like anthropics claims to ethics

Are they no longer worried about the supply-chain threat that Anthropic poses?

I wonder what kind of frightening new cyber weapons three letter orgs will develop with this. And who they will be used against.

They say they're ensuring "guardrails", but to that I say lol as we wait for the next Snowden.

I can't imagine there will ever be another Snowden. After seeing how whistleblowers are prosecuted by the government and villified by the public while literally nothing changes[1], who would throw their life away for that?

[1] Actually, the situation has only gotten worse and worse.

        There…have been multiple.

If Mythos is really as good as Anthropic says it is there is no way the NSA isn't already using it.

      You mean.. their own version?

or that they’ve taken it from Anthropic?

Also: you don’t think the White House is privy to all of the data sources, dashboards and tools its subsidiaries have - do you…?

They either are running it in a NSA DC or have API access.

I imagine that you will need to use a giant budget for covering those codebases, and you can always run a longer and more expensive loop.

Let’s hope mythos is all hype then

SOTA model will only kill 100 children instead of 160.

    • casey2 15 hours ago ago

      Cars killed way more children

      • ok_dad 15 hours ago ago

Solving “cars killing kids” is a lot harder than solving “dropping bombs on schools killing kids”. With the latter, we simply stop doing it. We can’t just stop using cars right away.

That line is suitable at X, not here!!

While one was avoidable and unnecessary, and other can be improved!!

Maybe the Geneva convention should be updated to allow more generous quotas of collateral damage then. /s
