That makes a lot more sense than banning them outright - this way, customers have one place to manage their Claude credits instead of having inexplicably separate API and Claude.ai billing. Now I hope they put together an official way to access Claude.ai via OAuth or the like, so third-party software has a easy way to integrate with this extra usage system w/o reverse engineering.

First I went to the Claude web site, because we've all been trained not to click on links promising things, right? Couldn't find anything there so I checked the domain carefully and clicked on the link, which takes me to my settings page with no discernible discount. I am no longer surprised by anything not working, perhaps Claude itself vibe-sent this mass email.

This is a much better approach than hard limits. Pay-as-you-go means power users stay on-platform instead of switching to competitors when they hit a wall. Smart move for retention.

Not so long ago, my claude account was banned for some reason I don't understand, today I received the same email, does this mean that my account was hacked?
