I've seen reported anywhere from 2 500 to 12 000 civilians killed by the islamist regime in Iran these last days.
Where is all the outrage from all those who were constantly posting messages defending the act of Hamas on Oct 7th as "resistance"?
We sure do read constantly about one person shot while not complying and driving away hitting one ICE agent, but zero posts about islamists eliminating thousands of civilians in Iran?
The dual standard here is insane.

There’s been multiple threads on HN front page that have been about this for the last week as well as protests in certain US cities like LA and SF.
I don’t know if you’re being willfully dishonest or you’re genuinely oblivious.
EDIT: also Renee Good’s killing is a domestic issue and is much closer to home for most Americans than Iran. It is not surprising that there is a lot of chatter about it.
I think the problem might be that taking personal responsibility for one's own morality and beliefs is a burden that's too much, too scary, for many people.
It feels a lot safer and more comfortable to simply look around you and draw your morals from what everyone else is saying and doing.
There's something isolating about trying to be good.
Easier said than done. Iran is a fairly large country, with a large population.

I’m mad about thousands of civilians being killed in Iran. Outraged even.
