I applaud signals oversight for maintaining their stance. I hope they keep it up. This is the least worst governance choice they can make.

I think Meredith is doing a fine job advocating for the fundamentals here.

The irony of this website requiring you to concent to:

    To view the article.

    No thank you!

I am not sure if threatens is the right word. Their whole service model is incompatibilie witch such law, they have to quit EU if chat control is passed.

Won't that get blocked too? In any event Signal is already quantum-safe and open source and audited.

        Illegal ≠ blocked

And we - all 4 users of it will be very sad /semi sarcastic

Odd comment. You may be in a bubble, I may too, they're different bubbles: I do signal with fellow geeks in ietf and related contexts, with family, and newspapers use it rather than telegram for tips. They're in europe.

It didn't get traction in your circuit. It's used heavily by politicians.

I don't know where your here is but where my here is, most of my contacts are on signal and it's probably the main app I use to chat with everyone

I don't think the problem is if signal leaves EU or not.

All the politicians are using it
