    Honestly it describes eerily close to what I dealt with. First psych just depression and general anxiety, wanted to load me up with SSRIs and benzos. Therapy helped some but those meds only made me suicidal.

    At a suspicion I later asked about adhd as there were some rather clear cycles and signals, "no you cant have adhd you're successful", successful to them meaning graduated and held a job even if I was at my wit's end. They were of the mindset that clearly if I had adhd my parents or the public school system would have caught it.

    New psych and one the first things she wanted unprompted was adhd screening, go figure.
