My mom got straight up malware from Google ads years ago. And just last month she got scammed from a facebook ad.
They clearly have no control over what or who is using their platforms.
They clearly have all the control they could possibly need to prevent such cases. They just sold out your mom for a buck.

You are damn down right on this one Mike.
Ublock origin is one of my top most reasons-ish why I am on firefox (zen to be specific)
Ublock origin works like wonders on firefox, I love it.
Any suggestions for Safari on iOS and macOS?
I am currently using AdGuard and YouTube videos seem to have issues where it shows me a black screen unless I refresh the page.

Wipr 2
It’s a one time paid app that works for both Mac and iOS
I've also been happy with Wipr on both those OSes.
AdGuard has been the best overall in my experience. uBlock Origin has recently released for Safari, but it seems like a work in progress.
On iOS, Brave’s built-in blocker seems to work for me. Not safari, but I believe it’s using their WebKit engine.
I don't know how people without adblockers tolerate the internet. When I show them one, they don't know how they did either.
