This could be the central plotline of “Her 2”. Bravo.

Oh come on, if you're going to speculate then at least add proper juice to the story:

investments and collaboration deals with realdoll, hiring gynaecologists and sex workers, a takeover attempt of top-k fleshlight manufacturers (and rebrands it as "OpenLegs"), partnership deals with pornhub, for the timestamps when people stopped streaming (because they came a little before, in order to mine anything thats hot or a kink).

The sex industry in the US is estimated at approximately 30B, this would only increase with lower prices (as automation could undercut an "untapped" fraction of phalluses at each price treshold).

Deals with fancy brands: your doll has a slightly lower chance of cooperating and spreading "her" legs if you didn't buy her the latest Prada, Gucci whatever.

The dolls would have to be just a tiny little less demanding than the average mate in flesh the customer has had intercourse with. They will seek the path of least resistance.

No way, you're kidding? They did that??? God I'm so dense, took me way too long to catch that

Super interesting and semi-satirical article that just popped up in my feed, makes me wonder what happend to this entire 7 trillion ordeal and how big the AI bubble really is. I think its very very relevant to ask and understand how the people in charge interact with AI. The article touches on many current issues surrounding the psychological and by extension societal impact of AI, and I think it has multiple points that will spark an interesting discussion for investors in a market where index gains etc. are increasingly driven by a few AI related whales. The article brings a new angle to this topic and connects some very interesting dots about the AI bubble and how AI delusions might be affecting decisions.

yes, and it's all a kind of incestuous and self-fulfilling relationship between OpenAI, Nvidia and Oracle (with a sprinkling of Softbank thrown in), according to a post here earlier today. Although meta and microsoft have their own approaches

    Brilliant.

    That's very insightful satire.

The idea of it could work as a science fiction novel, if it weren't so plausibly true.

Anyone else recall the "sell it by zealot" guidance of the very early internet commercial push? It's deja vu all over again

That's the thing that creeps me out the most about the entire ordeal, the more I think about it the more serious it gets to me to the point where I can't imagine it going down any other way anymore... What worries me a lot too is that all the same people that poured endless money into fake tech companies a la WeWork and Uber 10 years ago are at it again in the AI space right now too.

        the usual suspects?

Re: Uber ... this very aggressive growth company sold out its customers to facilitate adoption in urban areas. "let us do business in your city, and we'll supply our customer data to your police" kind of deal.

With some AI companies, the amount of personal data extracted from users is even greater. The same deals involving selling out users' privacy ?

The fact that privacy is so elusive now, alarms me. We need to think twice about what we search for, which browser to use, whether it's worth a trip to the library, etc. Not because I have anything to hide, but because the targeted ads on some topics are so nasty, even borderline abusive. Some forced me to avoid Chrome browser, for sure.

Yeah... it's really dystopian... as if we're getting boiled alive. And nobody seems to care

Have you played Mass Effect? https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Saren_Arterius#Alliance_w...

Maybe this definition of "AGI" is satire.

Still waiting for that Scarlett's lawsuit some people were absolutely sure it was going to happen and was going to bring and end of OpenAI.

What a bunch of absolute losers, lmao.

    • nimih a day ago ago

They're losers, but you have to give them due credit: their company is now worth a bunch of money.

      • moralestapia 21 hours ago ago

By losers, I mean the ones who thought that lawsuit was going to happen ...

    • GorkFangirl 21 hours ago ago

Yeah almost forgot about that. Think they cloned her actual voice?
