    So who is buying it?

A group that will censor at the will of government (on behalf of another government). But we won’t go down that rabbit hole here.

If Tiktok starts to feel censored to its users, I think people (especially the coveted 18-35 demographic) will stop using the app. I do wonder what the plan is to keep it fresh and cool and competitive with the myriad other social media apps out there. It would be funny if it became another Facebook.

Social media platforms go in and out of fads.

Are you joking? I wonder if you missed all the kids talking doubleplus ungood badthink self-censorship there already? I might unalive myself if I see one more post talking about seggs or grape or acoustics.

All you have to do is make them slightly less likely to be seen and they'll fall all over themselves censoring themselves voluntarily.

Oracle, Andreessen Horowitz, and a bunch of investment firms are pooling their money.

What do they bring to the table? Sounds like a no bid contract like thing to me. Doesn't sound like the meritocracy to me

They'll make sure nobody says bad things about Israel and consider censoring any other topic the government doesn't like.
