Why does a CEO need a social media presence? No one really cares if it doesn’t exist, and when it does exist it opens the CEO and company up to a lot of potential backlash if the internet decides something being posted is “wrong”.

I don’t know why any public person or company would want to open themselves up to that. To avoid it is to make the social media account so boring and generic that it might as well not exist at all.

There is a CEO content firm that interviews you for an hour every two weeks and will produce a month of content for you on X, Facebook and YouTube. Plus you don't have the embarrassment of placing a public ad where people can poke fun at you.

That’s the top of the range. It’s not crazy to hire a PR person though.

If you got nothing to say, then sing it.

If it’s even worse, hire someone who will sing for you.
