I don’t get how this is supposed to work. Why would someone vouch for someone they haven’t met? And if this system is that effective, why did you need to build the list anyway instead of just asking said friends for the referral for yourself?

Published by an HN account which is over two years old but this is the only interaction ever, it looks suspiciously like spam.

It’s not always necessary to have met someone to make a referral. Often, a short call where they can get to know you and see that you have a strong CV is enough for them to feel comfortable referring you.

And yes, I’ve asked for referrals myself, and some have helped me. However, many of these connections work at companies with open roles in other fields. That’s why I built the list—to help others find the right people who could refer them for positions that might suit their skills better.

When you refer someone, you’re putting your own reputation on the line. If the person turns out to be a bad fit or incompetent, the referrer’s opinion and judgement loses value.

Why are your friends subjecting themselves to spending their own time interacting with strangers and risking their own reputation by recommending someone they don’t know? For what? A slice of the under 5$ a month per user, which would make the referral even less valuable? I doesn’t make sense to me.

I was so tired of receiving rejections and being ignored for job applications when I was looking for a job 9 months ago.

I have solved this problem for you: I gathered contacts of my friends who work in EU companies. They are ready to refer you to all these companies!

As we know, life gets easier with a referral.

The list of companies is available at the link - www.referralsradar.com

referrals dont take a part until you are past the initial interview...so this wont solve "receiving rejections and being ignored for job applications" as you say
