I'm glad this happened. I've been using bazel daily for many years, since both the startup I'm currently working for and the previous one chose it, founded as they were by former googlers (in part). It requires more discipline than some other options, but it pays off in the sanity you retain over the long term. Really appreciate this tool.
Google's internal dev experience really was wonderful. I don't miss the company, but I did appreciate the effort they put into setting up the tools, so we could just work and not waste our time with a lot of tedious meta-work.
