Both ingress-nginx and Kong use this? I wonder if OpenResty will consider using https://freenginx.org instead of http://nginx.org/, since the original implementors had a falling out with F5.
Cloudflare was also originally built on it and even used it at scale (it was the primary platform when they IPO).
My understanding is that only in the last few years have they begun replacing it was a custom Rust stack.
AFAIK the maintainers of ingress-nginx are investigating using the NGINX Javascript Module instead of lua/openresty in the future
