Well, Geoff Hinton should get the prize for physiology instead. It's called “neural” networks after all.

Let’s be honest, the connection between the Boltzmann machine and physics is about as real as Häagen-Dazs' ties to Denmark -- it’s either superficial or virtually nonexistent.

But denigrating an old institution for fashion is trendy these days — just look at their Olympics behavior.
