Mozilla is such a garbage organization now. With all that money, you think they'd focus on making good software.

But today, we literally have privacy aware forks of Firefox! I've been using Librewolf for over a year and I might try out BetterBird next.

Sadly these projects would just go away if Mozilla ever up and vanished. I really hope the Ladybird project makes significant headway. I'm still upset Microsoft didn't attempt to open up Trident after they ditched it for Blink/Chrome.

The limited web engine market is a really bad thing.

This is such corporate double speak. It's not clear from the title, but this is Mozilla announcing its new advertising network and its pivot into advertising.

    This is sad, sad news.

    > I can imagine a world where advertising online happens in a way that respects all of us, and where commercial and public interests are in balance. That’s a world I want to help build.

So can I! But I don't think Mozilla's approach is the correct one. I think it will just make the problem more intractable by helping to legitimize and cement in the very thing that makes online advertising so abhorrent.
