    I'm not sure how it's Uber's fault that a driver ran a red light. Is it because they failed to check that the driver was competent enough to not drive through red lights?

      That's a valid discussion too be had but it's not the case that Uber is choosing to make. Uber's claim is that the couple can't sue Uber over an issue they had during a ride because at another time they agreed to Uber's ToS when they ordered UberEats.

      The implications of this precedent are worrying, as large tech companies grow ever larger and operate in multiple areas of our lives, and most of us have little choice but to click through endless legal agreements we didn't read in order to participate in modern life.
