Is this post in any way motivated by the recent post about physics of colliding balls? ;-)

Very cool! I used to love Virtual Pool (original version) and this is scratching my itch. On macOS, I installed with pipx and it just worked, installing with pip failed as it usually does these days (at least for me on my setup).

I remember playing VirtuaPool on DOS a long time ago, I don't remember the command to start it on DOS, I think it was POOL.EXE

My dream program is a tool that takes a video of a game on a pool table and feeds it into an interactive playback tool like this one.

There's dozens of awesome shots I wish I could experience again on demand.

      You might appreciate this: https://youtu.be/vsTTXYxydOE

An engineer created a mixed reality pool table (YouTube channel "Stuff Made Here", all of his stuff is great).

It would also be nice to setup a shot you missed during competition to work on.

It would be really interesting to see an open sourced reinforcement learning agent system build on top of this. I wonder what trickshots are possible.

Is it standard practice to put lots of code in the `__init__.py` files?

I get the feeling you know the answer, so just come out with it :)
